Celebrities That Are Helping People Overseas

Donald Frank Cheadle was born on November 29th of 1964 in Kansas City, Missouri. He is one of the many celebrities helping out with the problems in Sudan. As everyone has seen on the news there have been all sorts of problems in Sudan. Don along with Paul Rusesabagina started a program called Sudan: The Passion of the Present. This program was put together to help stop the genocide in Sudan. You will also see this as the Hotel Darfur or Hotel Rwanda Project. Hotel Rwanda essentially was a promise to stop many atrocities that had once occurred but were never to happen again.

Angelina Jolie Voight was born on June 4th of 1975 in Los Angeles, California. William Bradley Pitt was born on December 18th of 1963 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. As we al know by reading the headlines or watching television Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are always helping people. Angelina is a goodwill ambassador for the UNHC or the United Nations. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt helping people is nothing new. They helped out with the victims of Katrina and they do a majority of there work in third world countries or poor parts of Africa. They are a pair of the greatest humanitarians around.


Oprah Gail Winfrey was born on January 29th of 1954 in Kosciusko, Mississippi Oprah is a force to be reckoned with in the world of talk shows. But what many people are becoming aware of is that Oprah is a force when it comes to literacy and education. Oprahs program is called the Oprah Winfrey Academy for Girls and is a boarding school based out of Johannesburg, South Africa. This program provides academically gifted girls from impoverished backgrounds with a chance to make something of their lives. This boarding school was opened in January of 2007 and is an all-girls school.
